Dance
Through the study of dance, students can learn the movement vocabulary of modern dance, ballet and jazz, as well as the theories and practices of African dance techniques. Whether your goal is to become a professional dancer or use movement skills in theatre or another profession, Tri-C offers courses to advance your goals and enhance your communication skills. For performance, you will learn to execute basic dance combinations and analyze elements of movement, including time, space and energy. If making dances interests you, you'll find opportunities to choreograph solo and group dances by exploring such processes as content, form, technique and projection. Studio work will nurture your creative and interpretive abilities, and formal and informal dance performances will challenge your skills.
Students interested in Dance can obtain an Associate of Arts degree at Tri-C.
